Mission Statement
Our mission is to assist the family by providing a Christ-centered Bible-based education that inspires each student to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and pursue excellence in moral character, academics, and service to others.
 Campus Facilities
ECS is located in South Eugene at 4500 West Amazon Drive, just 7 minutes from downtown Eugene. The campus includes 14 classrooms, a computer lab, library, music room, gymnasium/theater, ample playground with playing field.
Classes vary in size, but in each, students receive much one-on-one attention. Class size is limited to 24 students.
The library is available to all students and includes a collection of more than 14,000 volumes. There is a wide assortment of children's literature, up-to-date reference books and magazines, and computers to access additional information.
A generous donor helped ECS to purchase 24 Apple eMacs for our computer lab so we can offer hands-on computer learning experiences for all the children, Pre-K through 8th grade. Business computer skills are taught in Middle School.
Our Tishon Theater, allows us to transform our gymnasium so drama productions can be performed by our students. We believe drama provides an opportunity for building confidence and creative expression.
 Academics
At Eugene Christian School, we strive to create a Christ-centered atmosphere, where teachers emphasize character and morality. Our staff loves Jesus as their own Lord and Savior. They have the freedom to share their Christian life and are expected to model God's love. Our teachers are professionally certified and dedicated to providing each child with a successful academic experience.

History
Nestled on a 3 acre plot against the south hills of Eugene, Eugene Christian School has been serving families by education children kindergarten through 8th grade since 1955. Average enrollment throughout the years has fluctuated between 172 and 230 students.
Formerly known as Emerald Empire Christian School, it was founded by Walter Huss in 1955. The school was located in a church across from Westmoreland School. In 1956, they met in the facilities of the Bethel Danebo Baptist Church in Northwest Eugene. During that year, the current site on West Amazon was purchased.
Since the inception of the school, ECS has had only five principals. Our present administrator, Susan Baurer, started as a teacher at the school in 1972. The total teaching years among our faculty members is 243 years.
Eugene Christian School has now been in the community long enough that several children and even grandchildren of former students are part of the student body. We are proud of the legacy all these years of quality Christian Education have left on our community and the lives of others touched by God through these former students and educators.
