Students in 1st through 5th grades experience a wonderful elementary education that provides the skills and knowledge necessary for them to confidently enter middle school. Our educational philosophy is based on a biblical worldview. We desire that each student will become the very best they can be and that they develop a clear understanding of the world God has created, and their place and function within that world. We encourage moral and character development by teaching students to do and be their own personal best. Beyond academics, we provide a variety of learning experiences that give students many opportunities to explore and expand their talents and abilities. We teach them to serve others and to be good citizens by caring for our community.
Curriculum for 1st and 2nd grades includes Open Court Reading program that effectively teaches and sharpens reading skills while developing vocabulary and comprehension.
Language Arts includes the Shurley Grammar curriculum, which is taught through jingles and sentence flows providing an enjoyable way for students to assimilate language.
S.R.A. math curriculum relates math to every day life and real problems. Skill building includes using simple numbers through 100 for 1st graders to mastering adding and subtracting, graphing in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. The 5th graders build skills to understand math concepts, to compute efficiently and accurately and to apply math to real-life problems.
Science is fun and exciting. We use the Bob Jones curriculum which emphasizes God as the Creator and Sustainer of the universe.
Social Studies lessons begin in 1st grade following explorers around the world. The upper grades include studies of communities, Native Americans, Oregon history, world history and geography.
Art is integrated into all subjects of the curriculum. In the upper grades, special art instruction teaches elements of design, lines, shapes and color.
All students have weekly Computer Lab classes where they learn keyboarding skills, word processing, research and graphics.
Music and Physical Education are offered two days a week to all elementary students.
BEYOND ACADEMICS

Field trips, drama productions, holiday programs and special events make each grade special. Parents are always encouraged to help in the classrooms and each class has a room parent to coordinate volunteer help.
“I have chosen the way of truth; I have set my heart on your laws.”Psalm 119:30
